Making The Best Out Of A Bad Situation
Updated: Mar 23
So, there is this corona virus. How quickly the view snowballed from the poor people in China who had this horrible epidemic to suddenly it was us struggling with never before seen tragic events. Heartbreaking. Our government has put New Zealand into total lock-down from Wednesday onward. People have to work from home (if they are lucky and still have work), schools are closed and kids are cooped up inside, and no more retail therapy or going out for a meal.
One of my brilliant writer friends had the great idea to suggest a Well-na-no-wri-mo (Wellington National Novel Writing Month) for the next four weeks--that who long the lock-down will last, at least. We might as well make the best of it. There might be a new book at the end of this.
I believe it's important to spend the time as meaningful and as pleasurable possible. Staying in touch with friends is so crucial. Social distance does not have to mean social isolation. Ready. Set. Go girls.
